Reducing carbon and water footprints in the cultural heritage buildings
UNIMORE Università degli studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia Italy
PhD enrolment : UNIMORE
Supervisor: Roberto Rosa
Co-supervisor: Benjamin Quesada
Start date September 2026
Duration (in months) 36
Objectives: The main objective of the scientific activities of DC 11 will be the implementation of selected climate-related equations to LCA modelling frameworks. After an opportune selection of the equations, they will be implemented in LCA calculation software and tested in case work scenarios. Despite the implementation/integration of the selected equations, the developed models will be tested for the newly proposed materials and bioinspired solutions for cultural heritage buildings
Expected Results: The expected results mainly comprise an innovative methodological approach that will allow to implement in conventionally employed LCA calculation tools the selected climate and water related equations. The implementation of the selected equations will allow to quantify the potential environmental impacts associated to the innovative solution proposed by the project in CH buildings also accounting for those climate and water effects
Planned secondment(s): UR, B. Quesada, M24, 4 Months, implementing selected climate modelling equations in LCA calculation tools to overcome LCA limits in modeling of cultural heritage systems/processes.
